Bedford, PA was at the heart of the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794 as President George Washington personally led thousands of soldiers into this town to put down tax protesting rebels in Western Pennsylvania.

In keeping with the history of “Olde Bedford”, we were inspired to carry this historical theme into our brewery. George Washington may have spent time in Bedford planning for the Whiskey Rebellion, but we know George loved beer! He even crafted his own beer, a Porter, which we have attempted to recreate and have named George Washington’s Porter.

Olde Bedford Brewing Company is the first and only micro-brewery operating in Bedford.  We are proud of our history and excited about what is to come.
